Matthew W. Rose
My Story is still being written..
My name is Matthew Rose, and I’m the owner of Allegheny Accessibility. My story is one of hard work, faith, and perseverance — a journey built from the ground up, driven by family and a calling to help others.
I was raised by my mom, who is an amazing and humble woman. She raised five kids on her own, and I’m the only boy with four sisters. Watching her work hard, stay strong, and keep her faith no matter what life threw her way taught me the meaning of resilience and love. She set the example that I’ve tried to carry into my own life as a father, husband, and business owner.
I became a father young — my son, Cody, was born when I was 15, and my daughter, Mya, when I was 19. I left school at 16 to provide for them, working wherever I could — landscaping, construction, and nights at a pizza shop. It wasn’t easy, but those early years built my work ethic and taught me the value of doing whatever it takes to take care of your family.
By the time I was 20, I was climbing trees for a living. I spent nearly a decade in the tree service industry, working for companies like Ideal, Clark’s, Paul Bunyan, and Zambo’s Tree Service. I even traveled to Florida to help clean up after Hurricanes Matthew and Irma, working with FEMA to clear hazards and restore safety to communities.
In 2017, my life took a new turn when I met my wife, Codi. Together, we blended our families — my older two, Cody and Mya, and her younger three, Zay, Keaton, and Bella. We built a strong foundation rooted in love, teamwork, and faith, and we were married in 2023.
Our family is the heart behind everything I do. Codi is a registered nurse who works in the home health division of a local hospital — the same hospital where our son Cody works in IT. He also has the same passion for cars and electronics as me. Mya is graduating this year while preparing to head off to college next year and is an amazing artist! Zay has been working hard on bodybuilding and is going out for wrestling this season. Keaton moved up from JV to varsity football this year and shares that same drive for bodybuilding. Bella shines in theater and is excited for her next play coming up soon.
After years in tree work, I wanted to find a new way to help people — one that would truly improve their lives. That’s when I joined Next Day Access, where I learned to install stairlifts, tub cutouts, grab bars, ramps, and vertical platform lifts. It was meaningful work that helped people stay safe and independent in their own homes.
When the pandemic hit, I was laid off. Instead of waiting around, I used my first unemployment check to buy tools and started doing small jobs around town. That became Rose’s Repair & Restoration, where I helped people with all kinds of home projects — painting, fixing, building, and improving. Over time, I began offering accessibility modifications again, and that’s when everything started to click.
In 2022, I took a leap of faith and launched Allegheny Accessibility, focusing completely on accessibility installations. I started with a small showroom in Mineral Point, Pennsylvania, and later streamlined the business to specialize in what truly made the biggest impact: tub cutouts, grab bars, and stairlifts.
Since then, Allegheny Accessibility has grown steadily through integrity, faith, and word of mouth. Today, we run commercials on WJAC, CW, ABC, FOX, and CBS, and have appeared on over 30 billboards across the region. We’ve proudly supported our community by sponsoring local schools, sports teams, theater programs, cheerleading, marching bands, and charity events. Soon, our name will even appear on restaurant placemats throughout the county — a small reminder of our ongoing commitment to the communities we serve.
Four years ago, I also became an ordained minister, deepening my faith and giving even more purpose to the work I do. I’ve completed Harmar Lift Squad Training, National Association of Home Builders Accessibility Training, manufacturer certifications, and hands-on training in Waterloo, Iowa, ensuring that every project meets the highest standards of safety and quality.
When I look back, I see a young man who just wanted to take care of his family — and through faith, perseverance, and a lot of hard work, that grew into something greater: a mission to serve others.
Allegheny Accessibility isn’t just a business.
It’s a calling — to help people live safely, move freely, and stay independent in the homes they love.
